Sanitation Plan
In an effort to promote sanitation, Village Student Ministry has consulted with local medical professionals to provide a sanitation plan for students attending Getaway 2020. Village Student Ministry cannot monitor students behavior in all circumstances, but will promote the following procedures to help with students' sanitation.
A Message from Danielle Tocoben
Vice President, Group Sales and Engagement YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly
“Right now the CDC is working with the American Camp Association, along with the YMCA of the USA and other large entities, to determine a set of guidelines for residential camps and youth conferences this summer. We expect to see those guidelines very soon, and then we can move forward with our official plans to make our campus a safe environment where people feel comfortable staying.”
YMCA Blue Ridge COVID-19 Procedures
A Couple Highlights as they pertain to Village Students:
48 Rule - no groups are allowed onto the property until the previous group has been gone for 48 hours. During this time the property will be cleaned.
Dining - groups will eat in a private dining area separate from other groups. Groups will eat in teams of four. Food will be served directly to the individuals table. The dining area will be cleaned after each meal.
Hydration Stations - students should bring a water bottle. Hydration Stations will be located throughout the property. Students are responsible for refilling their own bottles each day to have with them on the property.
Gym/ Field Space - a gym and outdoor field will be designated specifically to Village Church during their stay. No other group will be able to use these facilities.
Phase B in the Sanitation Plan pertains to Village Church.

Transportation Procedures
Village Student Ministry will partner with Young Transportation in Asheville, NC. Young is one of the most professional transportation companies in the Southeast and has gone the extra mile to create a sanitation plan for their coaches. Click the box below to see what procedures Young Transportation has put in place.
Masks
Young Transportation has asked that all passengers wear a mask while on the coach.
2. Seating
Students will be assigned to sit with their roommates and will be spaced out throughout the coach.
Teams
Village Student Ministry believes in creating community. How we do so will look differently this year. This year teams will be compiled into bubbles. Bubbles will be the community your student will be with throughout the week in these areas.Sleeping
Teams will be based on a group of 6-8 students. They will be based around sleeping arrangements.
2. Dining
The same team will be spaced into a specific dining area throughout the week marked by their team color. This is where they will dine for every meal. This space will be cleaned after each meal.
3. Rafting
Rafts will be comprised of the same teams discussed earlier.
4. Seating
Students will be spaced out and sit with their team during our Main Event time.
